General Terms & Conditions

We are pleased that you have chosen our services and thank you for your confidence in us. Please read the following General Contract and Travel Conditions carefully

1. Scope

1.1. Taste Tours is a branch of Tastings SAS (Siret: 97976786000013 Code NAF / APE: 9329Z). These General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between you and Taste Tours in respect of the package trips and other travel services we offer.

1.2. These GTCs distinguish between package trips and other travel services. A package trip is defined as such when we arrange transport plus accommodation or another tourism service for a total price and the trip lasts for at least 24 hours or includes an overnight stay.

1.3. If Taste Tours acts as a broker for other travel services not covered by the definition of a package trip shown in point 1.2. of these GTCs, i.e. travel arrangements or separate services provided by other tour operators, we are not a party to the contract and the other provider's own contract and travel conditions apply. In these cases, we accept no liability for the performance of third-party providers and refer you to their liability conditions, which they should make available to you. These GTCs do not apply in the cases described in this point, with the exception of points 2, 3 and 9.

2. Conclusion of a contract

A contract is concluded once Taste Tours has accepted a booking you have made in writing (letter, e-mail or via the Internet) or by telephone.

3. Terms of payment

3.1. In general, package trips must be paid for at the time of booking either partially (with a deposit) or in full. Other travel services as described in point 1.3. of these GTCs are paid directly to the provider in question in accordance with their own General Terms of Trade.

3.2. Prices are normally quoted in the local currency inclusive of VAT and taxes. Hotel taxes are also included where applicable.

4. Cancellation and alteration by the customer

4.1. If you wish to cancel or alter your booking, we will levy a processing fee of 50.00 euros per cancellation or alteration; this is not covered by any cancellation costs insurance you may have subscribed to, as it is an administrative fee levied directly by Taste Tours (see 4.2.). You must notify us of your cancellation without delay, either in person or by registered letter or email.

4.2. Cancellation costs insurance can be taken out for a supplement (see your insurance provider) and covers the costs of cancellation in the event of illness, accident or death affecting the traveller or a person close to him or her. In this case you must send us written notification of the decision to cancel as well as evidence of the reason for cancellation and return any travel documents that have already been issued.

4.3. The following cancellation charges will apply in addition to the processing fee (see 4.1.): 45 – 21 days before start of trip 50% 21 – 5 days before start of trip 75% 5 – 0 days before start of trip 100% No-shows will be treated as cancellations.

4.4. If you are unable to travel, you can in principle appoint a replacement who will take part in the trip under the same conditions. This is subject to the replacement person agreeing to pay the price of the trip and to the travel providers for the trip (hotels, airlines, train/boat cruise companies etc.) accepting the change.

5. Programme alterations and cancellation of trip by the provider

5.1. Trip programmes may be altered in unforeseeable circumstances. Taste Tours will do all it can to offer alternative, equally satisfactory arrangements or another solution in such cases.

5.2. Should the arrangements actually provided be of lesser value than the arrangements originally planned, the difference will be refunded to you if Taste Tours or another provider were at fault.

5.3. Taste Tours is entitled to cancel trips in cases of force majeure (e.g. natural catastrophes, unrest, strikes) or in the event of government action, accidents, technical defects etc. If Taste Tours cancels the trip before it begins, the amount you have already paid will be refunded.

6. Complaints

6.1. If the trip does not meet the contractual agreement, or if you suffer losses, you are entitled and obliged to notify the relevant service provider of the relevant shortcoming or losses without delay.

6.2. Should the service provider at the location be unable to find a satisfactory solution, and therefore the shortcoming is not (properly) resolved, you should complain in writing to Taste Tours within 30 days of the date on which the trip was due to end.

6.3. You will automatically lose any entitlement if you do not complain to the service provider at the location (see 6.1.) or send a written complaint to Taste Tours within the time allowed (see 6.2.).

7. Liability

7.1. Taste Tours is liable for personal loss arising from the death, physical injury of illness of a customer if this is caused by the negligence of ourselves or a service provider commissioned to provide travel arrangements.

7.2. Taste Tours' liability for direct, immediate material loss is limited, in cases where we are at fault, to twice the cost of the package trip, unless the loss was caused deliberately or as a result of gross negligence on our part. Any further liability, particularly for indirect loss and/or consequential loss, is excluded.

8. Litigation

Before starting legal action you may contact the MTV, Médiation Tourisme Voyage, BP 80303 –75823 PARIS Cedex 17, at any time. The commission always strives to reach a fair and balanced decision in disputes between travellers and travel service providers.

9. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

The contractual relationship between you and Taste Tours is subject to French law. Paris is the sole place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising. Please note, that in case of any legal dispute, the French version of these GTCs is solely applicable.
